Legislation signed into law by President Bush on December 4th makes sweeping reforms to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Under the new law (the "FACT Act"), consumers have greater protection than ever when it comes to identity theft. Information sharing with affiliates is impacted. There are new duties imposed on those who furnish information to consumer reporting agencies. Borrowers who receive loans on less favorable terms than those available to most other borrowers will be gettig a new notice of action taken. Those are just a few of the changes. About the speakers:  
Jack Holzknecht
Jack Holzknecht is a principal with Pegasus Educational Services, LLC, a training firm headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. He is an experienced consultant who has provided training to thousands of bankers and examiners for 22 years. He has the ability to identify the key compliance issues from each regulation. Jack's career began in 1976 as a federal bank examiner. He later headed the form and software and education divisions of a regional consulting company. In that capacity he developed loan and deposit form systems and software. He also developed and presented training programs that were delivered to bankers in 43 states. Jack has been an instructor at compliance schools presented by the Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, New York and Texas bankers associations. He developed and delivered compliance training for the FDIC and OTS for ten years. He is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and a member of the National Speakers Association. He is also a "BOL Guru" and frequently answers compliance questions sent to "Bankers' Threads."

Mary Beth Guard
Mary Beth Guard currently serves as Executive Editor of BankersOnline.com and CEO of Glia Group, Inc., Mary Beth has had a long and distinguished career, graduating from law school in 1980. She has focused her work exclusively on the banking industry since 1984. Previously, Mary Beth served as EVP/General Counsel and COO for the Oklahoma Bankers Association, EVP of Specialized Services for Thomson Financial Publishing, and General Counsel for the Oklahoma State Banking Department. Mary Beth is on the advisory board for Bankers' Hotline and Compliance Action, as well as on the editorial board for ABA Bank Compliance magazine. She has presented training programs for virtually every major national financial industry association, as well as more than a dozen state bankers associations and a host of other organizations. In addition, Mary Beth has written more than a thousand banking-related articles and is a BOL Guru.

Andy Zavoina
Andy Zavoina, CRCM, is a consultant with the Glia Group, and a member of the BankersOnline.com team. Prior to joining Glia Group and BankersOnline, Andy was in finance and banking for 22 years. Over 20 years were with a holding company with two Central Texas community banks that had $534 million in assets, 89 branches spanning Texas and nearly 500 ATMs. After starting in loan workouts, Mr. Zavoina has been a consumer, commercial and real estate lender and managed those departments, as well as being the bank's first Webmaster. He was responsible for compliance management, auditing, and training for both banks. Andy is a past Chairman of the American Bankers Association's Compliance Executive Committee. He was the 2003 recipient of the American Bankers Association's Distinguished Service Award for his involvement and accomplishments in the field of regulatory compliance management. He currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for the ABA's Compliance Magazine, Compliance Action magazine, is a member of the ABA's Compliance School Board and is a BankersOnline Guru. He also served on the Texas Bankers Association's Compliance Committee. Andy is not only a BOL Guru, he is also the most prolific poster on Bankers' Threads.
